10. Coach Carter

Based on an incredible and true story, Coach Carter presents the controversial basketball coach Ken Carter, who has been praised and criticized, after he became famous following the seizure of his entire undefeated team that had a series of failures. However, the dying Emperor Marcus Aurelius (Richard Harris) still has a task: to transmit power. Heir to the throne, Commodus (Joaquin Phoenix) is not pleased and orders the execution of Maximus’s family. While escaping with his life, he becomes a slave and is trained as a gladiator. His fame grows from day to day, and gladiator learns that the only power greater than that of the king is that of the people.

Dan Millman is a gymnast who dreams to win a medal at the Olympics, whose world turns upside down when he meets a mysterious stranger named Socrates. Socrates has the power to reach new levels of power and understanding. After suffering an accident, with the help of Socrates and a young woman, Joy, Dan discovers that he has to learn more and forget even more before becoming a fighter at peace with himself.

7. La vita e bella

In the center of this story is placed Guido (Roberto Benigni, Oscar for this role), a delightful character, characterized by a childlike innocence cherishing a big dream: to open his own bookstore. He fulfills his dream, opens his bookstore, marries the girl of his dreams, Dora, and they have a son. But everything crumbles when Guido and his son, Giosue, are sent to a concentration camp. Dora asks to go to the camp, for staying with her family. Guido’s purpose is to save his son’s life and his innocence.

6. Rudy

Rudy has always been told that he is too short to play college football. However, he is determined to overcome the impediment and to fulfill the dream of playing for Notre Dame team.
