MARVEL Plans AVENGERS 3 And New Superhero Movies While ROBERT DOWNEY JR. Is Still Negotiating His Contract
On 09 May 2013
Kevin Fiege and other executive producers gave a hint about what Marvel plans next, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
While “Iron Man 3” is having a blast at the box offices, Robert Downey Jr. is in negotiations to return in “Avengers 2” but this comes as no surprise.
The producers are hoping that Downey will also accept to make another Iron Man or at least one more Avengers film even if he said he wants to retire from the Marvel Universe. Gwyneth Paltrow is also declaring that she wouldn't reprise her role as Pepper Potts but she might cameo in “Avengers 2”.
Now, in development is a third “Avengers” movie but we've learned that Downey has no intention to star.
As we already know, “Iron Man 3” ends with Tony Stark destroying all his Iron suits and promising Pepper that he will retire.
Marvel plans a “Ms. Marvel” movie and a reboot of the character “Blade”. Moreover, “Doctor Strange”, “Iron Fist”, “Black Panther”, and “The Runaways” are some possible future projects.
Kevin Feige declared for Collider that there are no plans to make a spin-off film for the characters War Machine (played by Don Cheadle) or The Falcon (Anthony Mackie in the upcoming “Captain America: The Winter Soldier”).
That is actually good news even if we love Iron Man and other over-screened Marvel Superheroes, it’s time for Marvel to focus on new properties rather that spinning off supporting characters.
